Changing Emails

I’ve moved a lot of my email back to my personal account. My email is now michael@runcieman.com. I’ve setup scripts so that if I drop an email into a folder, every email from that address will go to that folder in the future. The scripts will re-generate a number of sieve filters based on the list of addresses in each folder every 30 minutes (or however often I want). This way if I want to remove a particular address from that ruleset, I just need to remove all the emails from that sender from that folder and that address will be removed. I’m not entirely sure sure if I’ll keep this setup or not, but it’s been a fun experiment.

Theresa May Wants To Deprive Extremists Of Safe Spaces Online

This kind of thing will do nothing to stop the terrorists, but will likely weaken the privacy and security of law abiding people. The technology already exists. What’s the saying, “genie bottle”, or “horse barn”, something something. This reminds me of DRM, which usually doesn’t impact those who pirate at all, but causes immense amounts of problems for those who buy their media legally. Any type of measures taken to weaken encryption, or provide backdoors, will leave everyone except the intended targets vulnerable.

Google Plans To Clean Up The Web With Chrome Ad

“Sridhar Ramaswamy, the executive in charge of Google’s ads, writes in a blog post that even ads “owned or served by Google” will be blocked on pages that don’t meet Chrome’s guidelines.” Uh huh… Google is an advertising company, and they make the Chrome browser, and they’re going to block ads. Anyone who thinks any of Google’s ads will be blocked is naïve.
